The three of us who write for this blog would love to hear what you think. Feel free to send us your thoughts on the blog.
I am a Sophomore History major in college. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in politics and current events. I grew up listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. In 3rd or 4th grade when my class was reading a story that came out every week in the news paper, while other kids were reading the comics I was reading through the news section. Today I still have the same passion for politics and current events, though now I also tune in for Glenn Beck, Mark Levin and Jim Vicevich.
Why did I start the blog? I am worried about the direction the United States of America is headed in. Both Republicans and Democrats have led the country away from the founding principles and the constitution. I hope with my blog I can stand for those things that I believe are right and stand against those things that I believe are wrong.
I am a government libertarian with personal conservative leanings. This means I believe that for the most part government should stay out of people’s business. One should be allowed to chose what they do and not do. I do not, however, support abortion. This is where my conservative leanings come in. I believe in a universal and absolute set of right and wrongs. I do also believe in second chances. I believe that the Bible is the word of God and is true.
I am a freshman at Elon University in North Carolina, and a close friend of Andrew's. My interests in philosophy and politics were sparked over the past 2 years, and I have been following both with interest. Since I’m going to have more of a focus on philosophy and Christianity, I’ll start with that.
I’ve been a Christian for as long as I can remember, but my interest in philosophy was piqued when I took an apologetics course last year. Since then, I have been doing a lot of independent research into the subject, and have been astounded as what I found. I hope to continue in this field in college, and show others that Christianity is true.
Politically, I got started this past year when Andrew showed me his blog and a few books. I read them, and have been closely following the political conflicts, most notable the health care debate. (However, the best political moment for me this past year was going to see the Capitol Steps in concert. That trumps all.) Oh, and I'm the guy who got the response from John Larson in the "Congressional Response" post.
When it comes to baseball, I’m a geek. I have played for 13 years, the past 7 for my school. I am a Minnesota Twins fan at heart, but the Red Sox are #2. So no worries there.
I am very happy to have been invited as an editor to this blog. I hope people read these posts and learn something out of them.
